Appearance:
Between her low voice, how very tall she is, her strong and relatively flattened figure, and her dusty blonde hair in a short masculine cut, Haruka is often perceived as male-- a perception she encourages and, in fact, enjoys. She wears masculine clothing whenever she can get away with it, and even prefers to use masculine versions of the “I” pronoun in Japanese when referring to herself.

Of course, as Sailor Uranus, she doesn’t have much chance of pretending to be male, not with legs for miles and bows on her butt, but at least her transformation sequence has attitude. As the sailor soldier, she wears a uniform comprised of a miniskirt, sailor bib, and ankle boots of dark blue, with a bow on her chest in gold, and white kid gloves. It doesn’t provide much in the way of protection, but at least it allows for free movement.

History:
* Haruka’s wikipedia page

Not much of Haruka’s childhood is known, and she considers is a waste to worry about, anyhow. Her parents are no longer of import, whether dead or uninterested in her, but she obviously comes from money, given her ability to travel, live in her own apartment, eat out often, drive expensive cars, and even own a helicopter. She was a prodigy racer and sports fanatic in her early high school years-- yes, high school; the world of sailor senshi is a young world-- as she tried to outrun and outdrive her warning dreams and her destiny as a soldier. Until she met Michiru Kaiou, a famous violinist, also in her early high school years, with whom she had been sharing prophetic, warning dreams.

An early experiment of the Witches 5 of Mugen Academy, a prestigious private high school for genius students, attacked her and the danger prompted the reappearance of her transformation wand from her “previous life” in the Moon Kingdom. Michiru arrived on the scene just in time to warn her what would happen when she took it-- she would never return to her “mundane life”-- and showed that she, too, had a wand and a destiny. Michiru, as Sailor Neptune, saved Haruka, defeated the alien, and admitted her admiration for her fellow soldier, even before she knew who she was. She just wanted to “cruise the beach” with her in her sports car, but now they were destined to fight together.

The two joined together to fight the Mugen Academy, founded by the Death Buster aliens and the Witches 5: “enemies who intrude from outside the solar system”, which Neptune and Uranus, together with Sailor Pluto, were granted the powers to defend against. Their mission was to find the three Talismans, summon the Holy Grail, and grant it to the Messiah who would save the world from silence, and included infiltrating said Academy and, eventually, meeting the inner Senshi. This is where Sailor Moon: Supers begins. They followed the Death Busters, rescued the rest of the senshi a few times, even got rescued once or twice, but they refused to team up because they knew the need for sacrifices in search of the Talismans and the Holy Grail, and knew the younger girls never would. In the end, they held the Talismans inside themselves. One of the Witches 5 blasted the mirror Talisman out of Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Uranus, as much out of grief as duty, blasted her own out, herself, summoning the Space Sword.

From there, the search turned to finding the Messiah-- Sailor Moon, herself, at the very end-- and attempting to protect the world from the false Messiah, the Messiah of Silence, Sailor Saturn. They resisted the idealism of the inner planet soldiers until the very end, though Sailor Moon protected the unawakened Sailor Saturn until the very end, too. After Sailor Saturn and Sailor Moon together defeated the Death Busters, Haruka and Michiru gave her one final test of her leadership prowess, then took their leave of the older soldiers for some well-deserved peace.

It was, however, not to last. In her search for Star Seeds-- the forces that protected the planets in the form of the sailor soldiers across the galaxy-- Sailor Galaxia approached Earth and forced them to fight again, even Hotaru, Sailor Saturn, so she could collect from them, as well. Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna-- Sailor Pluto-- protected and raised Hotaru during her awakening and helped defeat the enemy that woke her, only to face Galaxia not long after. The Sailor Starlights, three soldiers from another solar system, came in search of Galaxia and their princess, won over the respect and affection of Sailor Moon, but not Haruka. Between what Michiru claimed was her dislike of popular men, and discovering that the Starlights were outsiders from another solar system, she and Michiru refused to work together with them.

In the very end, though, it was those three she and Michiru entrusted their princess to. They gave up their own Star Seeds to Galaxia, even took Setsuna and Hotaru’s Star Seeds, in order to find a chance to turn on Galaxia herself and steal her own Star Seed, to stop her from completely taking over the galaxy. She tested the Starlights, found them strong enough, and even when her plan with Michiru failed-- though they deceived her and managed to resist the control of Galaxia’s bracelets to attack her, Galaxia had no Star Seed to take-- she felt easier leaving Sailor Moon in their care.

Her last words were of her love for Michiru, and that is the last thing she remembers before waking up in the stasis pod.

Personality:
Tough and independent, a bruiser in battle and probably the most caustic of the senshi, Haruka tends to be led by her heart more than her head, especially when it comes to her temper. She is staunchly androgynous in her appearance and preferences. She’s very masculine in her interests (sports, cars, and sharp pointy things), language (she refers to herself using a masculine Japanese pronoun), and dress (her uniform of choice in school is always the male uniform). She even prefers to be seen as male in many situations: when the mistake is made, she never corrects it unless absolutely necessary or, alternately, if it will be funny when she does correct it. She does, after all, have a lively sense of humor.

A stubborn soul as well, Haruka doesn’t like to be proved wrong, and she doesn’t like being told what to do, at which point she reacts badly, and usually does what she wants, anyway. She can be convinced... but it takes a whole lot of doing. Haruka resisted her own “destiny” for a long time before awakening as a senshi, mostly by training hard in a variety of sports. She used her skill-- she says no one could beat her, no matter what she tried-- to run away from her future until she accepted it, and Michiru. Even afterwards, driving fast and going for a run both help her think. In the end, everything is about motion for Haruka: she simply cannot not fight, not move, be at rest for any length of time. Staying still is like death to her, or at the very least like death from boredom. She would much rather charge into a fight than wait around to make a plan, and that’s more than once gotten her in trouble-- and likely will, again. As much as she dreams of a future with no one to defend or to attack, it’s possible she wouldn’t know what to do with herself.

While not particularly intelligent in the conventional sense, she is a good tactician and usually has some kind of plan in mind for any situation she finds herself in, even if the plan is to just bust through on the strength of her physical prowess. She is goal-oriented, rather than ideal-oriented like the younger senshi of the inner planets, and generally understands expedience-- the need sometimes to sacrifice the one to save the many-- even though she sometimes finds it hard to actually play out. When friends of hers or people she admire are targeted by enemies, even though she knew they might have to be that one sacrifice, she often has a hard time following through. Then she takes out her anger and frustration with the situation, when she’s thwarted, by belittling the people at the cause of it-- even if they didn’t necessarily do anything wrong. More than once she reacted to a bad tussle with the enemy or her partner coming into danger by shouting at or insulting the inner senshi, rather than taking responsibility for her own emotions and facing their cause.

And then there are the times when she uses insults and anger to push people for their own good, whether away or towards a hoped-for outcome. Sometimes she just doesn’t think someone would be useful, sometimes she honestly doesn’t want to put another person through what she expects will happen, sometimes she has a plan that requires working alone or just with her partner, and sometimes she wants to prove something to someone else. Insisting on fighting with Sailor Moon, for example, proved to everyone that she really did have conviction and leadership skills, and pretending to turn on the other senshi with Neptune and work for Sailor Galaxia gave them a chance to try and defeat Galaxia herself.

She’s not all bad, of course. Haruka might come across as the most caustic and tough of the senshi, and she might be willing to ruin her own reputation and relationship with others to meet a particular goal, but she does have a caring heart, and it comes out at the oddest of times. She’s stood in front of a crowd before and proclaimed that love is worth everything, she enjoys making nicknames for and teasing her friends, she takes the brunt of an attack when she feels she needs to protect someone, always tries to make amends when she finds herself in the wrong, and banters quite amiably with Michiru even in serious situations to cover the stress they’re both feeling. Even Michiru claims Haruka cares the most out of all the outer senshi. When spending a week or two raising a rapidly growing Hotaru, she was the one who worried after and coddled the young girl the most. She would freely take pain and even death for a fellow soldier or an innocent, and her constant dedication to her goals comes only at the cost of second-guessing herself, even hating herself at times.

Her partner Michiru, Sailor Neptune, is the one who keeps her steady at times like that. She is unswervingly devoted to the green-haired senshi, in more ways than one. It may be seen by others as another way in which she is “masculine”, perhaps, but she is also completely lesbian, and flirts shamelessly with other girls. Even so, Michiru is her (admittedly somewhat co-dependent) soul mate and comrade in arms, and the other senshi she has known the longest. Michiru is really the more mature and focused of the two, often pulling Haruka back from making potential mistakes, but also the more steadfast in her affection: before they ever met, Michiru admired Haruka from afar. They tease each other about getting each other jealous, and Haruka’s wicked temper means when men flirt with Michiru, she doesn’t take it well. There is nothing in this world (or any world, for that matter) Haruka cares for more than Michiru-- not even their leader, which is saying something. Threaten her, and Haruka will do anything it takes to save her. They might be loyal and make good working partners, but they are also frighteningly dependent on each other, and Haruka would be devastated should anything happen to her.

Despite their differences, Haruka is also unswervingly devoted to Usagi, Sailor Moon, their leader. She gets frustrated by Usagi’s idealism, but she also admires it, and for all she hates when that idealism gets in the way of the mission, she wouldn’t have Usagi in any other way. Of the other senshi, Usagi is the one she is hardest on, the one she teases the most, and the one she flirts with the most-- besides Michiru, in that case, anyway. She even calls Usagi “ko-neko”, or “kitten”, out of affection, and often goes well out of her way to protect her. The other inner senshi she could take or leave, really: she has to work with them, but she’d rather not have to socialize with them. On the whole, she would rather work alone, with just her partner Michiru, and perhaps Pluto, who she admires.

Powers/Abilities:
* Henshin (transformation): Using a transformation wand and a catch phrase, Haruka turns into Sailor Uranus, who is stronger, tougher, more agile, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and forced to wear a mini-skirt and lipstick. At least she has awesome boots.
* Senshi powers: Even when not transformed, Haruka has something of a sixth sense for danger, manifesting as “hearing” trouble on the wind. When trouble lurks, she’s usually somewhere nearby, whether by accident or design, and she’s usually at least aware she needs to be on her guard. She has had precognitive dreams, shared by other senshi, but they are usually cryptic and only give her a vague sense of purpose rather than a lot of relevant details.
* World Shaking: The ability to draw a bright golden light out of nothingness, combine into it the strength of earth and air, and release it in a brilliant ball of energy that is one of the few powers among the senshi that is actually lethal to some enemies, rather than just damaging or distracting, though she can control the strength of it to be both, if necessary. Once or twice it has actually managed to collect the power of an enemy’s attack in its path and add it to its own.
* Space Sword: While the Talisman’s main purpose was to summon the Holy Grail, it is also not only a weapon in its own right-- a sharp, curved saber of red metal that can glow white hot when infused with power-- it makes another of Sailor Uranus’s powers, Space Sword Blaster. She slashes with the blade and it emits sharp-edged arcs of energy which damage or destroy whatever is in their path.
* Hand-to-hand: Even when not in her senshi form, Haruka can be a force to be reckoned with. She can beat you into next week, as she’s proved more than once to prejudiced men who thought she needed a lesson. After her transformation, she’s an even better butt-kicker. She’s not undefeatable, of course, no one is, but she’s still able to take care of herself and wipe the floor with the chaotic senshi sent by Galaxia.
* Speed: Haruka has a need for speed. Put her behind the wheel of a car, or just let her run to her heart’s content, and she’s a happy camper-- and likely to get herself a ticket, if there’s police anywhere in sight. Haruka is a racecar driver, a motorcycle rider, and an all-around badass when it comes to anything fast, really. Even on foot, she out-distances the other senshi time and time again, and has to wait for them to keep up. Some of this comes from simply being the tallest among them, but she has been described as running “like the wind”, quite literally.
* English: Japanese is her native language, but she has decent command of English and a smattering of other European tongues, from travel as a racecar driver.

Possessions:
* A Japanese high school uniform (male version)
* A set of street clothes (gold suit, black shirt, accessories) folded away carefully in an atache case
* Her transformation wand, also in the atache case
* The Space Sword
* Her wrist communicator, used to contact Michiru only

Arrival:
On the ship, preferably in a pod next to Michiru :)

Reason for Playing:
I got my friend, a Michiru player, to come play here, and of course I’m going to pair my Haruka with her ;) Besides, she’s active and pro-active and impulsive and likely to cause trouble by getting in over her head, which is always fun!

First person:

Oi. This place is boring. Anybody got something to do around here?

[There’s a smirking, masculine face with angled turquoise eyes and a mop of dusty-gold hair on the network, one that could be male or female, and who could really guess which? Apparently Haruka’s found the video function on her brand new wrist communicator. She looks tense, wound up, but she’s kept that smirk on her face, anyway, putting forth a mask of cocky bravado.]

Work to do? Building to destroy? Enemies to take out a little frustration on?

[She hefts her Space Sword in her free hand, showing the camera, so whoever sees this knows she means business and can handle herself.]

I’ll take what I can get. Call me if you’ve got anything.

[And then she flips the communicator shut, ending the feed.]

Third person:

A few hunting-monsters threads!
